Musika Underground is Malta's independent platform for underground music journalism, photography, and community. We document the raw, unfiltered stories that shape the island's sonic identity.
Musika Underground was born from a simple belief: Malta's underground music scene deserves to be heard. What started as a small collective of musicians, photographers, and writers has grown into the island's leading independent music platform.
We started documenting the scene in 2019, driven by a desire to create a permanent record of the sounds, stories, and spaces that most people never see. From warehouse raves in Marsa to jazz nights in Strait Street, we cover it all with the same dedication and rawness.
“We amplify the voices that shape Malta's underground music scene”
Our mission is to bridge the gap between the artists creating music on the margins and the wider audience that has yet to discover them. Through journalism, photography, video, and live events, we give the underground a platform and a voice.
On-the-ground reporting from events, concerts, and festivals across Malta's underground music scene.
In-depth editorial features, artist spotlights, scene reports, and album reviews published quarterly.
Original video content including artist interviews, live sessions, and behind-the-scenes documentaries.
Connecting artists, promoters, and fans to strengthen Malta's independent music ecosystem.
A growing visual archive documenting the people, places, and moments that define the underground.
Curating and promoting live shows, listening sessions, and cultural gatherings across the island.

Tunde founded Musika Underground to spotlight Malta's overlooked music communities and give the underground a louder voice.
